Sudjelovalo je preko 200 predstavnika: nacionalnih saveza i udruga osoba s invaliditetom, predstavnika ministarstava, gradske uprave i drugih institucija, predstavnika europskih organizacija osoba s invaliditetom te predstavnika ministarstava i nacionalnih saveza pojedinih europskih država.

Od posebnog interesa za Savez bilo je izlaganje Boruta Severa tj. iskustva primjene Zakona o osobnoj asistenciji u Republici Sloveniji. Zanimljivo je bilo vidjeti primjenu instituta koji će se uskoro zakonski urediti i u Republici Hrvatskoj, a u čijem će donošenju sudjelovati i naš Savez. Možda će određena rješenja i savjeti biti primjenjivi prilikom donošenja našeg Zakona o osobnom asistentu.

Posebnu pozornost privukla je radionica na temu radnih asistenata. Moderatori su bili Marica Mirić, dopredsjednica SOIH-a i Mira Pekeč-Knežević, zamjenica pravobraniteljice za osobe s invaliditetom. Raspravljalo se o potrebi za boljim uređenjem radnog asistenta kao oblika potpore zapošljavanju osobama s invaliditetom. Svoja iskustva podijelio je Roman Baštijan iz Hrvatske udruge paraplegičara i tetraplegičara, a iz perspektive osoba s intelektualnim teškoćama, iskustva pojedinih udruga članica izložio je predstavnik našeg Saveza Bruno Kobali.
